A Motionity alternative that's still updated

Motionity is a free, open-source motion design tool for the web, described by its author as a mix of After Effects and Canva: keyframes, text animations, masks, filters and chroma key, with no sign-in and projects kept in your browser. Its code hasn't changed since September 2022, and the hosted version exports WebM, GIF or a still, but not MP4. smooth.video shares the idea, free, local and without an account, and is still developed.

Can I open Motionity projects?

No. smooth.video opens its own .smooth files: bring your images, videos and audio over and rebuild the animation.

Where are my projects stored?

The project you're working on is autosaved in your browser, as with Motionity. Save it as a .smooth file to keep it before starting another, or to open it on another computer.

Can I export MP4?

Yes, as well as WebM with transparency, GIF, PNG, JPG and WebP.
