Countdown video maker
A countdown builds anticipation: 3, 2, 1 before a video starts, a timer ticking down to a launch or a sale, the last digit of the year rolling over, a loading screen reaching 100. Start from a countdown template, change the numbers, the words and the colours, and export a video.
How it works
- 1
Pick a countdown template, or add one text per number on an empty canvas.
- 2
Place the numbers one after another on the timeline and give each an entrance: pop, scale, flip, blur, elastic.
- 3
Export as MP4, or as a transparent WebM to lay the countdown over your own footage.
Start from a template
See all 164 templatesOne number, one element
Each number of a 3, 2, 1 is its own text, placed right after the previous one on the timeline. That's what lets every number arrive its own way, and it's how the countdown template is built.
Counting up instead
For a number that climbs, like a loading screen going to 100 or a goal being reached, use the Count entrance on a text: it counts from 0 to the number you type.
Questions
- Can it count down from any number automatically?
- Not automatically: the Count animation only counts up. For a countdown, give each number its own text, or start from a template where that's already done.
- Can I make a live countdown to a date?
- No. smooth.video makes a video that plays the same way every time, not a clock that tracks a real date. The countdown timer template gives you the look of one for a post or an ad.
- Can I add a sound on each number?
- Yes. Add an audio file, like a beep or a drum hit, and line it up with the numbers on the timeline.
