A free alternative to Biteable

Biteable builds business videos from a script, with a library of animated scenes, AI voices and avatars, automatic captions and viewer analytics. There's no free plan: the 7-day trial watermarks videos and doesn't let you download an MP4. smooth.video is free for good, and you animate each element yourself on a timeline.

When smooth.video fits better

You want to download a short animated video today without a subscription, and you'd rather set the motion yourself than start from a script.

When Biteable fits better

You write a script and want a video built from it, need AI voices, avatars or captions, or want to host the video and see who watched it. smooth.video has no script-to-video, no AI voices and no hosting.

Questions

Can a video be made from my script?

Not by smooth.video itself, but its project format is published at smooth.video/llms.txt. Give it to ChatGPT, Claude or another assistant along with your script, and open the file it writes in the editor.

Can I add captions?

Yes, as text elements you place on the timeline. There's no automatic transcription.

Is there a watermark?

No, and every download is free.

Try it before you settle on Biteable.
