The super simple animation tool.

Drop in text, images or video, move them where you want them, and smooth.video animates everything in between. Export an MP4 or a GIF a few seconds later.

Open the editorFree, no signup, nothing to install

That is the editor itself, not a picture of it. Drag something around, scrub the timeline, export the result.

Move it. That's the animation.

There are no slides to chain and no layer stack to keep in your head — one scene, one timeline. Put the playhead at a moment, move an element, and the way there is worked out for you. Move it again later and you have a sequence.

For the usual arrivals you don't even do that much: pick fade, slide, pop, bounce, blur or flip, and the element brings its own entrance.

How it works

  1. 1

Open the editor. No account, no download, no new-project dialog — the canvas is already there.

  2. 2

Put something in the scene and move it where you want it, at the moment you want it there.

  3. 3

Hit Export and pick MP4, GIF or a transparent WebM. The file is made on your computer and lands in your downloads.

What goes in

Everything lives in the same scene, and everything animates the same way.

Text
Type it, pick a font, give it a move. A number can count itself up — the animation reads the figure straight out of the text.
Images and video
Drag a file onto the canvas. Cut the background out of a photo without it ever leaving your browser.
Shapes and drawings
Rectangles, circles, lines, and freehand strokes for the times a shape will not do.
Audio
Drop a track in and it comes out inside the exported video.
Photoshop files
Import a PSD and every layer arrives on its own, ready to be moved around.
Templates
172 finished scenes to open and make yours, for the days a blank canvas is the problem.

What comes out

One project, every format. There is never anything to rebuild for a different channel.

MP4
The one that plays everywhere — Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, a slide, a site.
WebM with transparency
A moving overlay with nothing behind it, to sit on top of footage.
GIF
No play button and no player: it moves on its own in an email, a README or a Slack message.
PNG, JPG, WebP
Any single frame of the scene, as a still.
The right size
Square post, story, banner, 1920×1080, or whatever width and height you type in.
Made on your machine
Rendering happens in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, so nothing waits in a queue.

Nothing leaves your machine

smooth.video has no server to send anything to. Your fonts, your photos, the client video you would rather not upload anywhere — they are read by the tab and rendered by your own computer. A project stays in your browser until you save it as a file.

Free, and that's the whole story

No plan, no trial, no credits, no watermark, no account, no newsletter to escape from afterwards. Nothing runs in the background costing anything, so there is nothing to charge you for. Use it for work, use it for one GIF, never come back.

Questions

What is smooth.video?
A small animation tool that runs in a browser tab. You put text, images, video or shapes in a scene, move them around on a timeline, and export the result as an MP4, a GIF or a transparent WebM. It's meant for the short animated things — a logo reveal, a lower third, an animated post, a demo intro — without opening a motion design suite.
Do I need an account?
No. There's no signup, no login and no email field anywhere. Open the page and the editor is already there, ready to use.
Is it really free?
Yes: no paid plan, no export limit, no watermark on anything you make. smooth.video runs entirely in your browser with no server behind it, so there's nothing to bill for.
Where do my files go?
Nowhere. The files you add are read by your browser and the export is rendered on your own computer. Nothing is uploaded, which is also why the editor keeps working once the page has loaded and the connection drops.
Can I come back to a project later?
Your current project stays in the browser you made it in. To keep it properly, or to move it to another computer, save it as a .smooth file and open that file again whenever you need it.
What can I export?
MP4, WebM with transparency, animated GIF, and PNG, JPG or WebP for a still frame — all at whatever size the scene is set to.

It's one tab away, and it always was.

Nothing to install, nothing to sign, nothing to cancel later.
