Questions
Can I import Jitter or Figma files?
No. smooth.video imports images, video, audio and layered Photoshop files.
Can an AI assistant make the animation for me?
Yes. A smooth.video project is a plain JSON scene, and its whole format is published at smooth.video/llms.txt. Point ChatGPT, Claude or another assistant at it, describe your animation, and open the file it gives you in the editor.
How can it be free?
There is no server doing the work: the editor and every export run in your browser, so one more user costs nothing to serve.
Can I make a sharp GIF?
Yes. The GIF comes out at the size of your scene, whatever you set it to. Keep it short so the file stays light.
Can I use my own music?
Yes. Add an audio file, and it's included in the MP4 or WebM you export.
Is there a limit on projects?
No. Save each one as a .smooth file and open it again whenever you need it. Only the project you're working on is autosaved in the browser.
